The iPads in our schools are in "Logitech Rugged Combo" Cases. It's unlikely you'll ever need to remove them from the case. On rare occasion, though, we've seen the iPads have issues charging (the case has a charging port that passes a connection to the iPad). In most situations, removing the iPad from the case and re-seating in on the case's charing port gets it working again. Here is a video displaying how to both take the case apart and put it back together again. Of course, if you aren't comfortable doing this, please contact the tech office via a help desk ticket (Helpdesk@newulm.k12.mn.us) and we will look at it for you.
